Swadl ("we," "our," or "us") is a parenting coordination app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Swadl mobile application ("App"). We take your privacy — especially your child’s privacy — seriously. By creating an account and using the App, you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your personal data as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account.
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the App’s features: Account Information: Email address, display name, and password (hashed, never stored in plain text). Baby Information: Baby’s first name, date of birth, sex, and feeding method. This information is provided by you and used solely to power the App’s features. Activity Logs: Feeding, diaper, sleep, pumping, and growth logs that you voluntarily enter. Household Data: Household name, care mode preference, chore lists, and caregiver shift information. Device Information: Push notification token for delivering notifications. We do not collect device identifiers, location data, or browsing history.
Swadl is designed for parents and caregivers — not for use by children. The App collects limited information about children (first name, date of birth, sex, feeding method, and care logs) solely as entered by a parent or legal guardian for the purpose of baby care tracking. We do not: • Collect information directly from children • Display advertising to children • Share children’s information with third parties for marketing • Collect more information than is reasonably necessary • Track, profile, or monitor children’s behaviour All data related to children is processed based on verifiable parental consent, provided when the parent or guardian creates an account and enters the child’s information. A parent or guardian may review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child’s information at any time by contacting us at swadl.support@gmail.com or by deleting their account within the App.
We process your data for the following specific purposes: • Provide and operate the App’s features (logging, trends, briefings, growth charts, chore management) • Coordinate between caregivers in your household • Send push notifications you have opted into (chore assignments, reminders) • Generate summaries and trends from your logged data • Authenticate your identity and secure your account We do not process your data for any purpose beyond what is described above. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides: • Encrypted data at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+) • Row-Level Security (RLS) ensuring you can only access your own household’s data • Hosted on AWS infrastructure with SOC 2 compliance Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We never store or have access to your plain-text password. Cross-Border Transfer: Your data may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, through our service providers (Supabase and Expo). These providers maintain industry-standard security practices and compliance certifications. By using the App, you consent to this transfer of data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or your child’s information with third parties, except: • Within your household: Other members can see shared activity logs, chores, and briefings. • Service providers: We use Supabase (database/auth), Expo (push notifications), and Resend (transactional email) to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies. • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
Your data is retained only as long as your account is active and is necessary to provide the App’s services. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes: • Your profile and authentication credentials • All activity logs you created • Chore completions and shift records • If you are the last household member: all baby data, chores, and the household itself Account deletion is irreversible and is processed without unreasonable delay.
Regardless of your location, you have the right to: • Access your data (visible within the App at all times) • Correct your data (editable via Settings and the activity feed) • Delete your data (via Delete Account in Settings) • Withdraw consent for push notifications (via device settings) • Withdraw consent for data processing (by deleting your account) For users in India (under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you additionally have the right to: • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity • Lodge a grievance with the Grievance Officer (see Section 12) • Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India if your grievance is not resolved For any privacy-related requests, contact us at swadl.support@gmail.com.
The App uses the following third-party services: • Supabase — Authentication, database, and edge functions (supabase.com/privacy) • Expo / EAS — Push notifications and app distribution (expo.dev/privacy) • Resend — Transactional email delivery (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy) We do not use analytics, advertising, or social media SDKs. None of these providers use your data for their own marketing purposes.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the App and on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will notify you via push notification or email.
By creating an account and using the App, you freely and specifically consent to the collection and processing of your personal data (and your child’s data, as their parent or legal guardian) as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by: • Deleting your account (Settings → Delete Account) • Contacting us at swadl.support@gmail.com Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
